Apparel as Vehicle for AI Participation
It is our mission to empower everyone to participate in the safe development of Artificial Intelligence. We believe that T-Shirts and Hoodies are a great vehicle to show what we care about.
Low Risk and Fast Market Entry
If you have a business background or have started a business yourself, you probably understand that as a bootstrapped startup, we wanted to enter the market quickly with low risk to test our viability.
Print-on-Demand, but local
POD was the safest bet for us, as we only incur costs when we receive an order. This means: no large upfront investment or inventory costs. We could have chosen a big player like Printful, but we wanted to cooperate with, EasyMerchandising, a small company from Hamburg, Germany.
Our Designs on Sustainable and Fair Fashion
EasyMerchandising uses Stanley/Stella products to fulfill their print-on-demand service. Naturally, we have researched the company and feel comfortable using their products instead of other no-label fashion manufacturers. Find out why below.
Stanley Stella is a wholesale manufacturer and distributor of premium apparel. The basics are modern, durable and perfectly sewn and processed. Only GOTS certified organic cotton and recycled materials such as Modal or recycled polyester are used. They are made without brand labels and are made for finishing (with textile printing, embroidery, etc.).
-
The Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) certification ensures the production of organic fibers without genetically modified seeds or harmful chemicals. It guarantees traceability from raw material to the end product, promoting ecological and social criteria.
-
The Organic Content Standard (OCS) verifies the presence of organic material in products and tracks its journey from source to finished product.
-
The Global Recycled Standard (GRS) is the world's foremost standard for recycled textiles. It covers traceability, environmental principles, social requirements, chemical content, and labeling, ensuring responsible use of recycled materials.
-
The Standard 100 by OEKO-TEX® certification ensures that products are free from harmful substances, protecting human health and the environment. It complies with the EU's REACH regulation and restricts potentially harmful substances.
-
Stanley/Stella is 'PETA-Approved', aligning with the commitment to vegan materials and cruelty-free practices. They never conduct or commission animal tests, ensuring zero harm to animals.
-
Fair Wear Foundation is a Dutch non-profit organisation, whose mission it is to support workers of the garment industry. As a member of the foundation, Stanley/Stella wants to realize a safe, dignified, properly paid employment.
Sustainability
-
Commitment to sustainability
Sustainability isn't just a choice; it's a necessity. For us and our partner Stanley/Stella, sustainability isn't just an add-on; it's ingrained in our core values and business culture. Their commitment is reflected in their use of 100% GOTS-certified organic cotton, recycled polyester, and other sustainable materials like Modal®.
We believe in a fair and sustainable fashion industry, and it's our shared responsibility to continually improve the way we create and operate, maintaining transparency for the benefit of people, our planet and society.
-
Choosing materials mindfully
Fibre selection plays a key role in both the quality and environmental impact of garments. Stanley/Stella prioritizes the use of the highest quality raw materials to minimise the need for blending with other fibres.
While no material is perfect, they carefully weigh up the trade-offs to make conscious decisions about materials, prioritising product stability and longevity.
-
Reducing the carbon footprint
Recognizing the responsibility to mitigate environmental impact, it is important to focus on reducing CO2 emissions throughout the supply chain and monitoring water usage. Stella/Stanley is committed to combating climate change by reducing their carbon footprint and conserving vital resources.
Fairness and ethics
-
Caring for people
Stanley/Stella places fair and safe working conditions and well-being at the forefront of its operations. They create a motivating working environment in their offices and partner factories. They also work closely with their partner factories to improve working conditions and ensure fair wages, in line with their membership of the Fair Wear Foundation. Their ongoing projects, such as Fair-priced Grocery Shops, directly enhance Bangladeshi workers' quality of life.
-
Living fair work conditions
Stella/Stanley is proud to partner with the Fair Wear Foundation (FWF), an independent, non-profit organisation dedicated to improving the working conditions of garment workers worldwide. Their long-standing FWF membership and Leader status reflects their unwavering commitment to ensuring fair labour practices throughout their supply chain. They are committed to transparency and work to uphold social standards.
-
Supporting local communities
In line with their commitment to supporting local communities, they have initiated various projects to make their sustainability commitments tangible. Their aim is to strengthen the bonds within their ecosystem and make a positive contribution to the communities that are part of it.
